The variety is a local genetic resource of the Emilia-Romagna region. The fruits have a conical shape, firm white flesh, and bright green skin, which acquires yellow shades during storage.

The taste profile changes during storage: the initial acidity with citrus notes softens over time. Synonyms for the variety include Verdona, Musone verde, Verdone doppio, and Verdiso.
