The variety was developed in the USA by crossing 'Newtown Pippin' and 'Golden Delicious'. The medium-sized fruits have smooth, bright yellow skin, sometimes with a pink blush.

The flesh of the fruit is white, juicy and crisp, with a mild sweet-and-sour taste and a specific aroma characteristic of the 'Pippin' variety. The apples ripen in October and require storage to improve their flavor; they are characterized by good keeping quality.

The variety is intended for fresh consumption and is also suitable for culinary processing, including the preparation of pies and sauces.
