The variety is classified as an autumn variety, with harvest taking place from mid-September to October. Tree height varies from compact forms on dwarf rootstocks to large trees 4–8 meters tall. The plant possesses good winter hardiness, corresponding to zone 4, and is resistant to major diseases, including scab and powdery mildew.

Fruits are medium-sized, round in shape, with red skin, sometimes having green or yellow patches. The flesh is red or pink, juicy, sweet and sour, with a pleasant aroma. The variety is self-sterile or partially self-fertile and requires the presence of pollinator trees, such as Elstar, Golden Delicious, James Grieve, Aroma, or Discovery.
