The fruits have smooth, light yellow, almost white skin, which turns a bright yellow shade during storage, with carmine stripes or a marbled pattern on the sun-exposed side. The fruit flesh is yellowish, juicy, tender, and rather coarse-grained.

The variety belongs to summer apples with a ripening period in August and is used as a table variety. In 19th-century literature, it is classified as a variety of French origin.
