A tree with moderately vigorous growth, possessing a spreading, often drooping crown. The height of a mature tree when grown on a standard rootstock can reach 550–800 cm. The variety enters bearing late and is characterized by irregular, periodic yields, although in productive years fruiting is abundant.

Fruits are medium to large in size, round in shape. At harvest, the skin is light green or yellow-green, becoming bright yellow upon ripening with a brownish-orange blush and thin red stripes, often with russeting at the stem. The flesh is firm and juicy, possessing a wine-acid flavor.

A late-maturing variety: harvest maturity occurs at the end of October, consumer maturity from December to April. The tree is hardy, resistant to scab, and has a prolonged flowering period, which reduces the risk of flower damage by weather conditions. On heavy, wet soils, it may show susceptibility to canker and powdery mildew.

The variety is primarily used for processing into juice, purée, wine, and for baking, but is also suitable for fresh consumption. It develops well on humus-rich soils and heavy loams.
