The Seestermüher Zitronenapfel variety is a tree with moderate vigor, reaching a height of 2 to 4 meters. The fruits are large, round, sometimes with slight ribbing. Upon ripening, the skin becomes bright lemon-yellow, sometimes with a blush on the sun-exposed side. The flesh is creamy white, firm, and very juicy.

The plant has good resistance to scab, powdery mildew, and fruit tree canker. The tree has a strong frame, although it requires formative pruning at a young age. The variety is versatile: suitable for fresh consumption, culinary use, and juice production. The harvest keeps until January.
