The alfalfa variety Cigale is intended for use as a forage crop. The plant possesses high resistance to diseases such as anthracnose and verticillium wilt, and also exhibits resistance to nematode infestation.
This variety is included in the official state registers of a number of EU countries. In scientific publications, Cigale is examined in the context of research on the development of root systems of forage legumes and the analysis of the concentration of water-soluble carbohydrates in green mass.
