The variety is a hybrid alfalfa or Medicago sativa. It is characterized by the ability for vegetative spread through root suckers. A tendency for increased shoot length is noted with frequent mowing.

The variety possesses high winter hardiness and lower susceptibility to diseases compared to a number of other varieties. It is intended for forage purposes, used for green mass production, hay, and in pasture management. It has been used as an initial component in breeding programs.
