The variety was developed with the participation of the wild relative Medicago hemicycla, which allowed the plant to be endowed with protective properties. The vegetation period from emergence to flowering is characterized as short.
The plant possesses resistance to Verticillium wilt caused by the pathogens Verticillium albo-atrum or V. alfalfae. The defense mechanism is based on the presence of a dominant gene that limits the spread of the pathogen in xylem tissues through a hypersensitive response. In studies, the variety is classified as moderately resistant.
The variety was used in agricultural production and served as important genetic material for breeding programs aimed at creating disease-resistant alfalfa lines.
