Variety description

10 August 2026

The variety was created by the method of individual selection from local populations of the Pannonian ecotype. The plant height during the mowing period is 70–80 cm. The plants have large leaves and tender hollow stems, with a leaf-to-stem ratio at the beginning of flowering of approximately 50% to 50%. A waxy coating is present on the leaves, giving them a grayish-green hue.

This alfalfa variety possesses high resistance to drought and low temperatures, and shows moderate resistance to diseases and lodging. The crude protein content in the hay ranges from 19.8% to 21%.

The variety is intended for the production of green mass, hay, haylage, and silage. Under intensive management, it provides 5–6 cuts per year with a green mass yield of 85–100 tons per hectare and a hay yield of over 20 tons per hectare. The effective service life of the stands is 5–7 years.
