The variety is intended for forage production and belongs to the alfalfa crop. During trials in the 1980s, its winter hardiness was noted.
In scientific publications of that period, the variety was mentioned in the context of disease resistance assessment. Trials in northern Idaho in 1988 showed that the yield level of the variety approached that of the Blazer variety.
