The Silverosa variety (synonyms Silverosa GT, Silverosa GT7) was obtained as a result of breeding work using the parent forms Jindera and Silverado. The plant is characterized as a winter-active type with high tolerance to regular grazing.
A key feature of the variety is its high resistance to soil and irrigation water salinity. When exposed to high concentrations of NaCl over several harvest cycles, the plant leaves maintain a low level of sodium content, which allows the crop to be used as a feed resource.
