The variety is a biennial plant. In the first year of sowing, vegetative mass is formed, while flowering and seed formation occur in the second year. The origin of the variety is linked to selection from wild populations in the Třebíč region.
The plant is used as a forage crop for green mass and seed production, allowing for two to three cuts per season. The produce contains coumarin, which gives it a characteristic odor and specific taste.
The crop is undemanding regarding soil conditions, with the exception of heavy or highly waterlogged soils. It is suitable for both pure sowing and sowing under a cover crop.
