The variety forms pink flowers and is characterized by high yield with good leaf quality. The plant is suitable for air or fire curing and is often used in cigarette and pipe blends due to its aromatic properties.
In scientific publications, the name "Jupiter" appears as a model object in laboratory research or as a susceptible control in experiments studying resistance to diseases, in particular to the parasite Orobanche ramosa.
