The Weneda variety belongs to Polish tobacco genetic resources. In official EU documents, it is classified as a variety intended for industrial use.

The plant possesses resistance to potato virus Y (PVY) mediated by the monogenic recessive va gene. Field trial results using DAS-ELISA tests confirm the absence of viral infection symptoms when exposed to certain isolates.
