Halflange is a variety type, not a unique name of a specific breeding line. Its characteristics include a conical root shape, reaching 22–30 cm in length, with a smooth surface and dense white or cream-colored flesh.

The plant is usually classified into mid-early or mid-late maturity groups. The variety shows resistance to bolting and, according to some data, tolerance to powdery mildew. The produce has good keeping quality during storage and is suitable for culinary processing and fresh consumption.
