The Ståstorp bush bean variety has triangular leaves and light pink flowers. Flat and long pods at the stage of technical maturity have a light green color with pink streaks, acquiring a red hue as they ripen. Mature seeds are oblong, light brown with red speckles, sometimes completely red.

The variety is versatile: immature pods are suitable for cooking, canning, and freezing, while mature seeds are used as dry beans. The plant prefers sunny places protected from the wind and requires protection from frost. The variety is sensitive to powdery mildew and slug damage.

The origin of the variety is linked to a farm in Ståshult, from where seeds were taken by Marta Nilsson in 1936. Over the decades, the bean was preserved as a family heirloom and later entered the category of Swedish heritage varieties under its refined name Ståstorp.
