The shrub is characterized by a dense, upright habit with well-branched and sturdy shoots, reaching a height of 75–100 cm. The leaves are leathery and glossy; the ornamental period includes spring flowering with white or cream inflorescences occurring in April–May.
The variety is demanding of soil drainage and sensitive to waterlogging. It possesses limited winter hardiness down to –15...–18 °C and requires protection from drying winds. In cultivation, susceptibility to fire blight, powdery mildew, and leaf spot is noted.
