Variety description

The plant is a semi-evergreen shrub which, in cold climates, is grown as a herbaceous perennial. It has upright stems and is characterized by a relatively compact or low growth habit compared to other Phygelius varieties.

The tubular raspberry-pink flowers are gathered in paniculate inflorescences. A characteristic feature is the contrasting yellow throat of the flower. Flowering continues from spring until late autumn.

The variety is fast-growing and prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils in full sun or light partial shade. The plant is sensitive to severe frosts, so in regions with harsh winters, protection or cutting the stems down to ground level is recommended.
