Picea glauca variety «Коника» is a slow-growing dwarf form. At the age of about 60 years, the tree reaches a height of 2–4 meters. The crown is dense, of a regular conical or narrow-obelisk shape, formed independently and usually does not require pruning.

The needles are soft, light green with a possible glaucous tint, radially arranged, 10–15 mm long. The branches are delicate, curved. The plant has good winter hardiness, but is sensitive to dry air, spring sunscald, and requires sufficient lighting to maintain crown density.
