The plant has a highly branched crown and dark, almost black stems. The leaves are small, glossy, changing color from light green at a young age to grayish-green in mature specimens.
Flowering occurs in late spring and early summer, during which time small, fragrant purple flowers appear. Growth rates are slow or moderate. The variety is suitable for creating borders, hedges, and container cultivation.
The shrub is resistant to temperatures down to -8...-10 °C, making it suitable for regions with mild or coastal climates. The plant is not susceptible to diseases characteristic of boxwood.
