The Bowinta variety belongs to the Kentucky bluegrass (Poa pratensis) crop. The primary purpose of the variety is the creation of turf covers.

During trials, particularly within the SCANTURF project, the variety demonstrated characteristics typical for turf use under various mowing regimes in Northern European conditions.
