The variety is classified as a Common-type Kentucky bluegrass. Plants of this type are characterized by an upright growth habit and a narrow leaf blade. The variety demonstrates good stress tolerance and the ability to withstand summer drought by entering a dormant state, and is also distinguished by an early start to vegetation in the spring period.

Broadway is used as a lawn grass, is often included in seed mixtures, and is intended for areas with low maintenance requirements. It belongs to the category of older varieties, the agrotechnical performance of which is often described in modern publications through the characteristics of the entire group of Common varieties.
