The variety belongs to the BVMG group, which is characterized by medium-wide leaves, medium plant height, and high seed productivity. The plant is a perennial rhizomatous-bunchgrass representative of its species, although varieties in this group may be prone to producing generative shoots in the spring period.

Goldrush is intended for creating lawns and demonstrates good compatibility with other elite bluegrass varieties when used in landscaping mixtures. The variety belongs to the category of classic commercial varieties that were widely tested in the early 2000s.
