The Mardona variety is classified as a turf type and is distinguished by a rapid growth habit compared to slow-growing analogs. Like other Kentucky bluegrass varieties, it is a perennial plant with a developed rhizome system, which provides the ability to recover.

According to ISTA international standards, the variety belongs to the category with a thousand kernel weight of less than 0.35 g, with an actual seed weight value of 0.27 g.
