The clone Muenden 2 (Münden 2) was developed as part of the activities of the Research Institute for Fast-Growing Tree Species in Germany. The plant was considered primarily as an object of scientific research and breeding of fast-growing varieties for short-rotation forestry conditions.

In technical literature, the clone is mentioned in the context of trials of American aspen. Detailed morphological characteristics of the plant, including growth indices or disease resistance, are absent in open sources, as the mentions are primarily of a reference nature.
