The variety is self-incompatible and requires the presence of pollinator varieties for fruiting. During breeding work in Tunisia, the variety was studied as starting material for further hybridization.

The plant is susceptible to infestation by Eurytoma schreineri, with fruit damage levels reaching 53% in cultivation regions. The variety was also examined in experiments to assess susceptibility to Monilinia.
