The variety was developed within the breeding programs of the University of Pisa. It belongs to medium-early table varieties intended for fresh consumption.

The fruits possess stable market qualities and are suitable for post-harvest storage. The selection of the variety was aimed at achieving resistance to diseases such as sharka (plum pox virus) and moniliosis.
