The variety is historical and was bred in the Czech Republic by the gardener M. Holub around 1865. In a number of pomological atlases, this apricot appears under the name Bredská.
The variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central Bohemian and Ústí nad Labem regions. Detailed data on plant height characteristics, maturity group and disease resistance are absent from sources.
