The variety is a hybrid bred in 1998. The plant is adapted to the Mediterranean climate, including conditions of mild winters and low precipitation. The fruit size exceeds that of traditional varieties in the region.
The plant is self-compatible, which simplifies pollination in orchards. An important characteristic of the variety is high resistance to the Plum pox virus (Sharka), which limits apricot production in a number of regions.
