The variety Due Maschere ("two masks") belongs to the category of ancient local varieties known since the beginning of the 20th century. The name is due to the appearance of the fruits: the side facing the sun differs noticeably in color, creating the effect of two different masks.

The fruits are oval, slightly asymmetrical in shape with a flat apex, weighing on average 55–60 g. The skin is slightly rough, yellow-orange with a blurry pink-red blush and the presence of medium lenticels. The flesh is light yellow, the suture on the fruit surface is slightly depressed, and the stalk cavity is of medium depth and width.
