The Elsa variety, also known by the synonym Lisa, is the result of breeding by the Swiss institute Agroscope. The fruits have yellow-orange or orange-red skin, ripen in early July, and have a sweet taste. When using dwarf rootstocks, trees can reach a height of up to 5 meters.
The plant is self-incompatible and requires a pollinator variety, for which the Mia variety is recommended. The variety exhibits resistance to fire blight, has good winter hardiness, and is adapted to climatic conditions north of the Alps.
