The rootstock was bred at the breeding station in Valtice by selection of apricot seedlings collected in the South Moravia region. It is part of the M-VA series of rootstocks and is considered one of the most significant in Czech agronomic practice.

Trees grafted onto this rootstock are characterized by moderately strong or strong growth and possess good compatibility with standard apricot varieties. The rootstock is recommended for medium, medium-heavy, sandy-loam, and permeable nutrient-rich soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction, while it is sensitive to waterlogging and lack of oxygen in the root zone.

In the course of studies, the rootstock was classified as sensitive to the phytoplasma Ca. P. prunorum, which causes European stone fruit yellows.
