The M-4 variety is classified as a rootstock for stone fruit crops. It possesses high vigor, with crown formation ranging from upright to spreading.

The plant's one-year-old shoots have no pubescence, and the vegetative bud is noticeably distant from the shoot. The leaf blade is characterized by short length, medium width, and medium gloss. Rounded red glands are usually located on the leaf petiole.
