M-VA-4 is a generative rootstock for apricot, bred at the breeding station in Valtice. Trees grafted onto this rootstock are characterized by moderately strong or strong growth.

The rootstock is intended for medium-heavy, loamy-sandy, and permeable soils with a neutral or slightly alkaline reaction. It is not suitable for heavy and waterlogged sites, as the plants are susceptible to root asphyxia.

In 2003, the production of this rootstock was stopped due to the discovery of a large number of defective pits and embryos. In terms of quality, the seedlings of this form are comparable to the Haggith rootstock.
