The variety is a seedling of chance origin, selected in the late 19th century in the village of Kococz. The tree is of medium vigor and forms a dense dome-shaped or cylindrical crown. The variety is characterized by self-fertility and regular yields.

Fruits are medium to large in size, weighing 38–40 g. The flesh is dark orange, aromatic, with a low acid content; the stone separates well. The fruits are versatile in use, suitable for fresh consumption and processing.

The plant is relatively resistant to winter and spring frosts, as well as to Monilinia. The variety may be susceptible to tree dieback, therefore the use of suitable rootstocks, such as Myrobalan or apricot seedlings, is recommended.
