The Toyuda variety tree has high vigor and a semi-spreading canopy type; fruiting occurs on all types of wood. The variety is self-incompatible and requires pollinator varieties such as Magic Cot or Tom Cot.

The fruits have good taste qualities with a sugar content of about 12–14° Brix and firm flesh. The produce is characterized by a long storage potential of up to 3–4 weeks and resistance to cracking. Research notes the presence of genetic markers for resistance to Plum Pox Virus in the variety.
