The variety «UNGHERESE GIALLA» belongs to the category of traditional local Italian varieties. It is preserved within the framework of agrobiodiversity protection programs, in particular in the registers of the Tuscany region, and is not a product of targeted breeding.
Apricots of this variety are used both for fresh consumption and for processing into marmalade. In scientific literature, the variety is mentioned in the context of a group of local varieties close to the «Ungherese Piccola» variety.
