The Bigarreau Moreau variety, known by the synonym Äpfeleskirsche, is an accidental seedling of French origin. The tree is characterized by vigorous growth.

The fruits are broad heart-shaped, ranging from large to very large in size, and are dark red in color. The flesh is juicy and firm. The ripening period is in May–June.
