ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree is vigorous, forming a wide dome-shaped crown. The fruits are medium to large in size, heart-shaped, and acquire a dark red, almost black color when fully ripe. The flesh is firm, juicy, and has a good taste, but the fruits are prone to cracking.
The variety belongs to the late maturity groups. The tree is sensitive to bacterial canker on heavy and poorly drained soils, and relatively resistant to Monilinia. The flowers are susceptible to damage from late spring frosts. The produce is suitable for fresh consumption and processing.
