IFG Cher-two
ActivePrunus avium (L.) L. · Sweet cherry
David W.Cain
10 August 2026
The tree has medium to strong vigor, with a spreading crown prone to drooping. The variety is prone to forming sections without lateral shoots, which requires regular formative pruning. Fruiting is possible already on one-year growth.
Fruits are heart-shaped, with a diameter of 29–31 mm and a weight of 12–14 g. The skin is shiny, dark red, almost black in color. The flesh is firm and juicy, with a spicy-aromatic flavor and balanced acidity.
The variety is self-sterile and belongs to sterility group 20 (genotype S1S6). Due to its late flowering period, it can serve as a pollinator for the Regina variety. Thanks to the long peduncle and free arrangement of the fruits, harvesting is facilitated.
