The Judit variety was bred as a result of selection work at the Fruit Research Institute at the experimental station in Érd. Presumably, the variety is a mutation derived from the Vera variety.

Fruits of this variety ripen approximately 4 days earlier than the original Vera variety and are distinguished by excellent taste characteristics while maintaining a similar appearance. The variety is included in breeding programs aimed at increasing fruit size, increasing flesh firmness, and improving resistance to cracking.
