The variety produces medium-sized, truncate-conical fruits weighing 6.0–7.5 g. The skin turns dark red upon ripening; the flesh is also red and characterized by a firm consistency. The medium-sized stone is elliptical in shape with a distinct ventral suture; the stone is partially freestone.

Fruit ripening occurs in the first to second ten-day period of June. The peduncle of this variety is thin and of medium length. Trees are traditionally grown in local agroecosystems of Puglia, with Mahaleb cherry rootstock often used to control plant height.
