The PETRUKA tree is characterized by medium vigor and a spreading crown. Fruit ripening occurs at the end of June. The fruits are of medium or small-to-medium size and heart-shaped. The skin is dark red and firm.
The flesh is dark red, very juicy, of medium or high firmness. The taste of the fruits is sweet with a slight acidity, the stone separates with difficulty. The variety is distinguished by high keeping quality and is suitable for long-distance transport.
The variety is native to the hilly and foothill zone of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Currently, the plant is preserved in collections of genetic resources of fruit crops in the region as part of the cultural heritage.
