The sweet cherry variety SMS-16-CA 2014-16 (trade name Epick 16) was obtained as a result of open pollination of the seedling SC3-35. The tree has medium vigor and forms an upright spreading crown. The flowering type is mid-late.
The fruits have a dark red color and a symmetrical shape; their diameter ranges from 27.2 to 32 mm. The fruit flesh is characterized by a firm, crunchy texture and a sweet taste with a balance of acidity. The resistance of the fruits to cracking is estimated as medium or good.
The ripening period of the variety is early or early-mid. The variety is intended for commercial cultivation due to high yields and a long shelf life of the fruits after harvest.
