Variety description

10 August 2026

This crop is not a product of industrial breeding but represents a local group of Prunus cerasus forms, the cultivation of which in Southeast Himmerland has been known since the end of the XVIII century. The plant's fruits are distinguished by their smaller size compared to sweet cherries and a specific taste.

Historically, these cherries were propagated by root suckers. Within the framework of modern genetic diversity conservation projects, trees are grafted onto vigorous rootstocks to maintain plant longevity, although clear agronomic characteristics of the variety have not been recorded.
