Fruits of the Stonska sweet cherry variety have a round shape with a small depression on the pistil side and are relatively large in size. The flesh is firm, which ensures good storage life and transportability of the harvest. In terms of taste characteristics, the fruits possess moderate juiciness, high sugar content, and moderate acidity.
The variety belongs to the category of traditional Dalmatian varieties and occupies an intermediate position in terms of ripening time between the Gomilička and Tugarka varieties. Stonska is a self-incompatible variety with an S-allele genotype of S6S9. The effective pollination period is about 9 days, which allows for a high percentage of fruit set in the presence of suitable pollinators.
