The Sun Pop variety tree (known by the code COT12-09) has vigorous growth and a semi-open crown, demonstrating excellent branching ability. The variety is self-fertile, enters fruit bearing early, and forms the crop mainly on spurs.
The fruits are large, reaching 30–32 mm in diameter, have a kidney shape and a dark red color. The flesh is firm (Durofel index 77), crunchy, with a sugar content of 18 to 24° Brix. The fruit resistance to cracking is rated as medium.
