The Vittona variety is a traditional local landrace formed through long-term selection in the Pecetto Torinese region. There is a Vittona della spiga variant, the fruits of which are distinguished by a heart shape.
The tree has medium-low growth vigor and forms a spreading crown. Fruits ripen closer to June 25. The berries are large, aromatic, with crunchy flesh and a high content of polyphenols and anthocyanins.
The sweet cherry is used both for fresh consumption and for culinary purposes in the preparation of desserts. The variety is adapted to local climatic conditions, its S-genotype is determined as S13S22.
