The variety is traditional for the Goriška region and was historically widely exported to Austria and Russia. The fruits are distinguished by their ability to maintain commercial quality and resist spoilage during long-distance transportation.

In specialized publications and variety lists, the cultivar is classified as sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.). It is found in registries of collection plantings, which are used, among other purposes, for studying the phytosanitary status and the spread of viruses in fruit growing.
